Another bribe-taking official, and once again – in Transcarpathia

In the evening of September 8, in Uzhgorod, the chief state inspector of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate Office in Transcarpathian region was detained when receiving a part of a bribe amounting to 3,700 USD. This was reported by the spokeswoman of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region Victoria Popovich .

"Within the framework of criminal proceedings over extortion and the receipt of unlawful benefit (Part 1 of Art. 14, Part 3 of Art. 368 of the CCU), following a series of secret investigative actions, the fact of the systematic extortion and receipt of unlawful benefits from private entrepreneurs by officials of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate in Transcarpathian region has been recorded. It is about extortion of money from private entrepreneurs of the region. In particular, there was an extortion of a bribe amounting to about 4,500 USD from one of the entrepreneurs for the assistance of the issuance of a declaration of the commencement of the construction of a warehouse," – V.Popovich said.
