Under the pretext of rendering services for repair work, a 22-year-old resident of Uzhgorod cheated a man out of 7 thousand hryvnias

A resident of Uzhgorod reported a fraud to the police department. The man told that he had hired online a construction team, that had undertaken to repair his apartment.

During a personal meeting with a potential employee, he inspected the apartment, determined the scope of work and asked for a deposit in the amount of 7 thousand hryvnias. After that, he disappeared.

As the police have found out, the crook is not registered as a private entrepreneur and has never provided construction and repair services.

The investigator of the Uzhgorod Police Department opened a criminal proceeding over the fraudulent acts under Part 1 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers will find out if any other residents of the region have been cheated by the crook.
