The population of Transcarpathia is decreasing

According to the report of the Main Office of Statistics Service, as of July 1, 2017, according to the estimates, the population of the region was 1.25 million people. During January-June 2017, the total population decreased by 982 people, or one person per 1000 inhabitants. The decrease in the population of the region was due to the natural decrease by 917 people. Compared to the corresponding period of 2016, the number of newborns decreased by 421 persons or by 5.7% and amounted to 7030 Transcarpathians.
