One and a half thousand bags of plastic rubbish was removed from the Vilshany reservoir (PHOTOS)

After most of the water in the Vilshany reservoir, which is on the border of Mizhhirya and Khust districts, was drained for the regular prophylactic inspection, the reservoir was cleaned of garbage.

– Employees of the ecological inspectorate, forestry, state emergencies service (including divers), the power company, that owns the reservoir, the National Park "Synevyr" and the National Guard collected about one and a half thousand bags of garbage, most of which is plastic bottles, – Hennadiy Moskal said. – All that rubbish was brought to the reservoir by rivers and streams from the villages of Mizhhirya district, which are located upstream.

One and a half thousand bags of rubbish – it clearly shows how the inhabitants of mountain villages treat the nature. This is a shame! I instructed the Ecological Inspectorate to once again do raids in the villages of Mizhhirya district, talk with the chairmen of village councils and warn them that they will be mercilessly fined for garbage. 

Recall that in April of this year, H.Moskal ordered to clear the Vilshany reservoir, which is one of the most picturesque corners of Transcarpathia.
