Yesterday, on Saturday, August 5, in the Transcarpathian Regional Local Lore Museum, the legendary chief zupan of Ung Miklos Bercsényi opened a new, interesting holiday in honor of the birthday of his charming wife Krisztina Csaky.
That’s how the first "Bercsényi-Fest" in Uzhgorod castle started. According to the idea of the main organizer – the public organization "Pro Cultura Subcarpathica", the purpose of the festival is to preserve and revive folk traditions, crafts and customs of Uzhgorod district. This was the main emphasis of the holiday – carftsmen were conducting numerous master classes: embroidery, making of traditional souvenirs, wood carving and pyrography, blacksmithing, coloring on glass, ceramics and fabric, weaving of ribbons of leather and fabric, creation of hairstyles, making of baskets with corn leaves, cooking of traditional dishes and sweets and much more.
The performances of singers, folk choreographic teams from all over Uzhgorod district and beyond took place on the main stage of the festival. In the evening, the performance of ethno-rock band from Hungary "Tárkány Művek" and a fire show took place on the stage.
Given the fact that this holiday was held for the first time, the event had a certain chamber, cozy "home" atmosphere.
