On August 2, representatives of the Rescue Service together with police officers and journalists conducted a special tour of places of mass recreation on water in Mukachevo and Beregovo districts.
The first object of their attention was the "Klynovets lakes" in the village of Klynovets in Mukachevo district. It was there that a tragic accident happened on July 14. A 17-year-old boy drowned in the lake while swimming.
While being there, representatives of the Rescue Service, the National Police and mass media noted that there were warning signs "No swimming" around the entire lake, as well as lifebuoys. However, holidaymakers and residents of the surrounding villages ignore all prohibitions and continue to swim in the lake.
Next on the list of places was the recreation center "Boomerang" in the village of Dyida in Beregovo district which can serve as an example for all others. This facility is certified and meets all the requirements for the safety of people resting on the water.
The third in the list was a vacation spot on the Borzhava river in the village of Nyzhni Remety in Beregovo district. As previously reported, on July 29, a 12-year-old local resident almost drowned there. Fortunately, witnesses of the incident pulled the girl out of the water and brought her back to life.
The popular beach is still crowded.
In general, according to the head of the Transcarpathian rescuers Roman Hudak: "Since the beginning of the year, 20 deaths of people on water have already been registered in the region, of which 10 cases occurred during July 2017". The most common cause of tragic incidents is carelessness and neglect of the rules of conduct on the water. Citizens should be very careful about choosing a place for rest near the water, watch their young children and strictly comply with personal safety measures, the press service of the Transcarpathian rescuers informs.
