Employees of the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod and employees of the Honorary Consulate of Slovakia in Velyky Berezny worked together in the Stefanik park.
Recall that on October 18, last year, at the session of Uzhgorod city council, it was decided that part of the park on Druzhby Narodiv square (to the right of the exit from the Masaryk bridge) will officially bear the name of famous Slovak Milan Rastislav Stefanik. And on November 10, the monument to the famous politician, astronomer, general, the Minister of War and one of the founders of the Czechoslovak state (sculptor – Vasyl Roman) was opened in the park. However, the cold prevented further works on the arrangement of the park…
But it’s the second month of spring now, the nature is reviving – time to fix up the Stefanik park. Which was done on Saturday, April 8 by employees of the Consulate General of Slovakia in Uzhgorod (Consul General – Janka Burianova) and workers of the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Velyky Berezny (Honorary Consul – Oleg Adamchuk). They removed the debris, cut the grass, prepared the site, where comfortable benches will soon be installed.
At the same time, sculptor Vasyl Roman and his assistants fixed up the monument to the outstanding son of Slovakis Milan Rastislav Stefanik – it will look much grander. And there is gold lettering engraved on the pedestal informing whose bust is established here, what Milan Rostislav Stefanik is renowned for, and who was involved in the establishment of this monument in the regional center of Transcarpathia.
