Policemen conducted a search authorized by court in the house of a 33-year resident of the village of Velyki Beregy, during which they found three rifles, a hunting rifle and ammunition.
On March 23, officers of Beregovo Police Department, while carrying out pre-trial investigation in one of the criminal proceedings, raided the house of a 33-year-old resident of the village of Velyki Beregy in Beregovo district.
During the search, the police found illegal weapons and ammunition – an air rifle "IZH-38" of 4.5 mm caliber, two bottles of hunting powder weighing about 150 grams, iron balls looking like hunting pellets weighing in total about 3 kg, a small-caliber hunting rifle "TOZ-16" of 5.6 mm caliber with destroyed labels, a home-made hunting rifle of 5.6 mm caliber, and a hunting shotgun of 16 gauge.
All the weapons are illegal, because they are not officially registered. The man told the police that he had found this weapons and ammunition in his attic.
The police officers seized the weapons and sent them for analysis. Criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 1 of Art.263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons and ammunition). The investigation continues.
