On March 22, at 11:30, the coordination center of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region received a report of a fire in the market on Telman street in Uzhgorod.
Rescuers of the 14th and 15th State Fire and Rescue Units immeadiately arrived at the scene.
Due to strong smoke, firefighters had to use respiratory protection devices.
The fire over the area of about 100 square meters was contained at 11:56 and eliminated at 12:10. Concerted actions of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading and destroying the entire row, which includes about 10 stores.
The fire destroyed an electronics shop, where it started, and damaged two neighboring stores that sell furniture and flowers.
15 personnel members and 3 units of special equipment were working at the scene.
Nobody was hurt during the fire. Losses and cause of the fire are being established. One of the probable options is short circuit in power supply network.
