Nomen invites to new educational programs (Announcement)

Lectures about contemporary photography and the monuments after totalitarianism by Kateryna Radchenko and Rostislav Luzhetsky will be held in Uzhgorod.

The week is going to be busy for those seeking education, self-development and interestiong meetings. On Thursday, March 23, photographer, the founder of the only photofestival in Ukraine "Odesa // Batumi Photo Days" Kateryna Radchenko will come to Uzhgorod with the lecture "Trends in contemporary photography and historical parallels." And on Saturday, March 25, there will be a lecture of artist, designer Rostislav Luzhetsky on the impact of totalitarian heritage on Ukrainian monuments.

Kateryna Radchenko will present an almost academic lecture by a practicing photographer. During the meeting, we will talk about the main stages in the development of modern photography in the world, analyze visual practices in Europe, Asia and America and compare the features of photography development in XIX and XX-XXI centuries.  After the lecture, there will be the presentation of the photofestival "Odesa// Batumi Photo Days" with demonstration of the pictures from Asian photofestivals. More information about the festival is available here: http://thephotodays.org/uk/

Artist, designer and publisher Rostislav Luzhetsky will tell about the impact of totalitarian heritage on Ukrainian monuments. Rostislav Luzhetsky’s lecture will be held within the art festival "March Cats", in partnership with the publishing house "Komora."
