Bribery at the Mukachevo militray range

The head of Mukachevo military range of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade was exposed on bribery for illegal supply of timber from the range, the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region informs,

Today, March 11, employees of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian caught a mediator soldier when he was receiving the second tranche of the bribe in amount of 7,000 UAH.

"As previously found out during the pre-trial investigation, the head of Mukachevo military range of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade demanded and received the money from a Transcarpathia for the supply of timber from the range without registration of consignment documents", – the spokeswoman of the prosecution office in Transcarpathian region Victoria Popovich said.

The actions of the military officer are classified under part 3 of Art.368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – obtaining undue advantage by an official. The sanction of this article provides for deprivation of liberty for a term of 10 years.

Currently the primary investigation activities are being carried out, the issue of detention of the serviceman accroding to Art.208 of the CCP of Ukraine is being decided. 

Meanwhile, the press service of the brigade commented on the incident and reported that the detained soldier has nothing to do with the 128th Brigade – the Mukachevo.net informed.

Moreover, the incident occurred outside the military range.
