Today, a vehicle and cigarettes, that were being transported to Italy, were seized at the Transcarpathian customs office

Today, March 8, at the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office, another attempt of illegal transportation of tobacco products was prevented. The cigarettes were hidden in a "MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 312" with foreign registration driven by a citizen of Ukraine heading to Italy on private business.

The Ukrainian chose the "red corridor" for customs control. During oral questioning, the citizen denied having any goods, including those subject to declaration, and said that he was not carrying any goods hidden from customs control.

Based on signs of presence of specially manufactured caches in the vehicle, customs officers decided to conduct an in-depth customs inspection of the "MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 312". As a result of the inspection, tobacco products hidden from customs control were found under a decorative wainscoting of the ceiling. In particular, they found 818 packs of domestically made cigarettes "MARLBORO" with excise stamps of Ukraine. The cost of cigarettes, according to the labels, is 21,268 UAH, and the cost of the car is 36,530 UAH.

Thus, the citizen of Ukraine committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially manufactured caches.

These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

The report on violation of customs rules was made, the vehicle and the cigarettes were seized until the court decision.
