A lecture of Galina Sklyarenko on "The contemporary art of Ukraine" took place in Uzhgorod. She is an art critic, curator, senior researcher at the Institute of Art Studies, Folklore and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Institute of Contemporary Art of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
In the art space of the "Ilko" gallery, Galina Sklyarenko told in particular about her own projects, contemporary art in general and the new publication "Contemporary Art of Ukraine. Portraits of Artists."
The exhibition "Process-3. New Realism," which is taking place in the "Ilko" gallery, – Galina Sklyarenko says – is decent. And the works that are on display here are interesting.
Galina Sklyarenko is the curator of many exhibitions projects: "Ukrainian art in 1960-1980s. Three generations of Ukrainian painters", the exhibition series "Dialogues" (with B. Sakharuk, Kyiv, 2002-2004), the exhibition "Myth" and "Ukrainian Baroque" (with O. Barshynova, Kyiv, 2012, the National Art Museum of Ukraine). And also "Land navigation" (Kyiv National Art Museum, 2013), "In our paradise" (Kyiv, together with V. Sakharuk, 2014, London, Saatchi Gallery), where Taras Shevchenko "spoke" the language of the street. "Another history" (National Art Museum, 2016) and, of course, the project "Take me across the square" (Kyiv, 2017).
Galina Sklyarenko noted that she is interested in projects, in which past and present are intertwined.
Transcarpathia, the guest from the capital sums up, has its own framework and history. Modern projects can be organized here, and they will be interesting not only to Transcarpathians.
