The Service for Children of the Executive Committee of Mukachevo City Council received a report concerning two babies that had been staying in the regional children’s hospital not because they were sick, but because they had been abandoned by their parents.
Doctors could not find the mothers, that left the children for treatment. It was found out that the children were not born in the city, their births were not registered. There is no information about the parents. The city government took charge of the children. The registration of their births will be carried out by the order of the Executive Committee, pursuant to paragraph 2 of Article 135 of the Family Code of Ukraine.
The children will receive a status and will be temporarily held in the regional orphanage. The Service for Children will arrange for their adoption or family-based care.
