A state of emergency in the energy sector has been introduced in Ukraine: regions are recommend to revise power consumption rates

As part of temporary emergency measures in the energy sectors, heads of RSAs together with power companies and industry enterprises were ordered to develop schedules for reducing power consumption during peak load hours, the Deputy Prime Minister Hennadiy Zubko said.

Zubko said that pursuant to the minutes of the meeting of the anti-crisis center (held on February 13), the largest industrial regions – Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv – have already held the meetings of the headquarters for emergency situations to revise hourly schedules of loads at enterprises and generating capacities.

"Blocking of anthracite coal deliveries started in the coldest time of the month, so today, we should think not only about electricity supply, but also about heating. So, the problem affects not only industrial regions. Tomorrow, the regions will be advised to revise power consumption rates and reduce it during peak hours," – Zubko said.
