Uzhgorod is mourning and remembering…

With deep sadness, Transcarpathian writers learned painful news that after a serious long-term illness a prominent writer Felix Davidovich Kryvin had passed away.

His name is integral to the literary process in Transcarpathia. A native of Mariupol, in 1955 he came to our region and began working as an editor of the Transcarpathian regional publishing house. He published dozens of books by Transcarpathian writers. His creative development as an outstanding figure in the literary world took place in our region.

Felix Kryvin translated into Russian the works of Ukrainian writers, including fables and riddles of Leonid Hlibov (1977).

The work of this great master is known and respected around the world. He is the winner of the literary V. Korolenko Prize, numerous prestigious international awards. Felix Kryvin was awarded the title "Honorary citizen of the city of Uzhgorod."

The memory of our colleague – the famous writer Felix Kryvin – will live in our hearts for ever.

   May he rest in peace.
