On December 1, the Transcarpathian police conducted a search authorized by a court under a criminal proceeding in the city of Mukachevo. Law enforcement officials received the information that there was an illegal casino in the private house.
At the said address on Odeska street, the police officers found a nonfunctioning cafe. As it turned out, its owner, a local female entrepreneur was illegally renting out the premises (for 3,000 UAH per month) to previously convicted local residents. And they arranged in the defunct cafe an illegal and well disguised casino.
During the inspection of the illegal casino, the police found and seized two poker tables, gambling chips in amount of 1910 pieces, two timers, 11 packs of playing cards and a notebook with records of gamblers.
The police opened an inquiry over this incident and are identifying the persons involved in the organization of the illegal gambling establishment.
