On November 6, there was the presentation of the book "Incredible stories of saint mermaids" by Kyiv writer Boisida.
Boisida saw the plot for her book in a dream. It gave her an idea to write a fantasy book, where Slavic and Scandinavian mythologies would be intertwined.
The book consists of 4 parts – fictional worlds, where mythical creatures interact with humans.
The book is a mixture of many ingredients: a seductive erotic novel, a naive fairy tale and a fantasy detective.
The main characters of the stories are looking for answers to important questions to figure out how to survive in the cruel world of humans. Sometimes mythical creatures must show superhuman endurance in order to understand their life’s purpose. The writer touches upon the topics of domestic violence, relations between parents and children, lechery and chastity.
During the presentation, Boisida also read out her poetry and shared plans for the future. The writer has started to write the next book about forest nymphs.
