On October 28th, at 21:58, the Rescue Service of Transcarpathia was reported about a fire in a private house on Uzhanska street in Uzhgorod.
Crews of the 14th and 15th State Fire and Rescue Units were immediately sent at the scene. In total, 3 vehicles and 13 rescue workers were engaged. Firefighters quickly contained the fire, the center of which was in a room on the second floor, and at 23:15 completely eliminated it. In addition, firefighters prevented the spread of the fire to the adjacent outbuilding.
The fire destroyed the floor in the room on an area of 30 square meters and the ceiling covering on an area of 1 square meter. Also the wooden roof on area of 30 square meters was damaged. The amount of damages is being established.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but most likely the fire started due to improper placement of the chimney.
Nobody was injured or killed.
