Yesterday, at the checkpoint "Kosyno" of the Mukachevo Detachment, border guards prevented an attempt of illegal transportation of tobacco products across the border. During the implementation of control measures, they detained a car "Volkswagen", in which a 43-year-old citizen of Hungary tried to hide nearly 200 packs of cigarettes.
During the border and customs inspection of the vehicle, border guards found 188 packs of cigarettes "BOND" under the front seat in the niche for first aid kit and under the rear seat in a tool niche.
Another attempt of tobacco smuggling was prevented by border guards at the checkpoint "Dyakove." During the border and customs control of a car "Volkswagen" driven by our compatriot, they found 420 packs of cigarettes "ROTHMANS". Border guards found the smuggled cigarettes in specially made recesses, which were made in the Ukrainian’s car.
In both cases the cigarettes were seized according to the law. Also, the offenders lost their cars.
