Uzhgorod detectives arrested a serial thief

October 14, officers of Uzhgorod police received a report about the theft of a mobile phone at a hotel in the city. 

As it turned out, the victim was a 27-year-old security guard of the hotel. He had left his phone in the back room. The thief took advantage of the absence of witnesses, entered the room and stole the phone. 

Officers of Uzhgorod criminal police checked the footage from the surveillance cameras that captured the thief. They identified him, found out his whereabouts and detained the offender – a 50-year-old previously convicted Transcarpathian. The police officers found out that this citizen was involved in a number of other thefts in the region.

The police officers are conducting pretrial investigations into all the facts. Necessary evidence to prove the guilt of the perpetrator in court is being collected.
