Members of the international criminal gang, who intended to carry a truckload of cigarettes to Italy, were detained in the Hungarian city of Debrecen. This was announced on October 14 by the press service of the Hungarian special anti-corruption unit NAV.
According to official documents, the truck with Slovenian license plate began its trip from Serbia, crossed Romania, and was supposed to enter Ukraine through Zahony. But then, the driver chose another route – to Italy, and eventually ended up in Debrecen.
This is where Hungarian tax officers decided to check the truck. They found out that the truck was loaded with cigarettes Marble – a total of more than 600,000 packs. Two citizens of Ukraine and the driver from Serbia were detained.
The confiscated property was valued at 400 million forints. The Serb and two Ukrainians were taken into custody.Their fate will be decided in the district court in Debrecen.
