Today, October 14, 2016, at the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office, another attempt of illegal transportation of tobacco products was prevented. A citizen of Ukraine tried to carry cigarettes in the cache of a car "VW CARAVELLE". The Ukrainian chose the "green corridor" for customs control.
During oral questioning, the citizen denied having any goods, including those subject to declaration, and said that he was not carrying any goods hidden from customs control.
Based on signs of presence of specially manufactured caches in the vehicle, it was decided to conduct an in-depth examination of the car. During the customs inspection of the vehicle, they found 3,300 packs of domestically made tobacco products with excise stamps of Ukraine – "Marlboro Gold", "Marlboro", "Winston Blue", "Kent Nanotek" – hidden from customs control.
The cigarettes were hidden in a cache – double bottom of the car.
The value of the found cigarettes, according to labels on packs, is 72,750 UAH, and the value of the car "VW CARAVELLE" is 75,365 UAH. The citizen recongized the found tobacco products as his property.
Thus, the citizen of Ukraine committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially manufactured caches.These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
