Chop border guards found more than 3,000 packs of cigarettes in a Ukrainian’s van

Employees of the State Border Guard Service continue to counter smuggling of tobacco products.

Thus, at the checkpoint "Tisa", a border guard patrol of the Chop detachment together with customs officers noticed a minibus "Volkswagen" with Polish registration. Our compatriot was leaving Ukraine in it. During the inspection, they found in two specially equipped recesses in the bottom of the vehicle nearly 3,300 packs of cigarettes with excise stamps of Ukraine. The total value of the cigarettes is more than 70,000 UAH. Along with them, the Ukrainian lost the van worth 75,000 UAH.

In addition, border guards found caches with cigarettes at the railway crossing point "Strazh".

Currently, all the found cigarettes were seized according to the law.
