The competition in cooking of the traditional Transcarpathian dish – banosh – took place in Uzhgorod Trade and Economic College, Marianna Pichkar informs.
The guests of the holiday were the teams of Uzhgorod Higher School of Trade and Services and Uzhgorod Higher Commercial School.
Four teams of future chefs had to present thematic Transcarpathian folk table layout, logo, introduction of the team. Then, they had to kindle fire and to cook Hutsul-style banosh in 1 hour. Students were allowed to make changes to traditional recipes, add a variety of additives (sauces, mushrooms, spices, etc.). The jury assessed the taste of food and originality of serving. Awards and prizes were presented by the college director Larysa Pavlyuk.
