In Transcarpathia, border guards prevented another attempt of cigarette smuggling

Last night, border guards of the department "Luzhanka" of the Mukachevo Detachment prevented an attempt of cigarette smuggling.

Thus, while monitoring the state border, border guard patrol, using a portable thermal imaging, detected an unknown person. In order to prevent illegal activity, border guards immediately went to the place of possible offense. During the approach, the person, who had probably noticed the border guards, ran away towards the village of Dyida in Beregovo district. But later, during the planned search activities, border guards found five packages wrapped in black plastic bags. It is likely that the offenders were accumulating tobacco products to subsequently smuggle them to neighboring Hungary.

The found packages containing 5,000 packs of cigarettes "Compliment" without excise stamps were delivered to the Department of Border Guard Service "Luzhanka."

Currently, the circle of persons involved in illegal activities is being identified.
