Exhibition of fine art dedicated to the Day of Artist opened in Uzhgorod (PHOTO)

October 9 is the Ukraine’s Day of Artist. On the occasion of the professional holiday, the traditional reporting exhibition of artists from all over the region opened in Uzhgorod, the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informs.

In total, 125 authors belonging to several generations of artists and all artistic associations in the region, representing different types and techniques, genres and styles of fine arts and, after all, different views on art and the world.

Given the considerable number of exhibits, the exhibition opened simultaneously in two locations: the works of graphic and decorative art are presented in the "Uzhgorod" gallery, and paintings and sculpture – in the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum, where the official part also took place.

The exhibition was opened by the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council Yosyp Borto and the head of the Regional State Administration Department of Culture Victoria Frolova, the head of the regional branch of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine Vasyl Husti, People’s Artists of Ukraine Volodymyr Mykyta and Boris Kuzma.    

The exhibition features only new works of Transcarpathian artists, and based on the results of this exhibition, the Committee of the Regional Y.Bokshay and A.Erdelyi Prize in the field of fine and decorative art will determine the winners of the year.   

The exhibition "Autumn 2016" will last for two weeks, and then, on October 25, the Regional Art Museum invites to celebrate the 125th anniversary of its patron, coryphaeus of Transcarpathian painting Yosyp Bokshay.
