Memorial plaques in honor of the heroes, who gave their lives in battle with Russian invaders, have been opened in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

Today, in the lobby of Uzhgorod City Military Commissariat, there was the opening of three memorial plaques in honor of the soldiers of the 15th battalion of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade – Major D.Georgiev, Major Yu.Bilobrov, ensign O.Rehotun, who died for the freedom of Ukraine in the battle with Russian invaders in the Luhansk region in summer 2014.

The initial military rank of second lieutenant with appointment to Zhytomyr 95th airborne brigade was awarded to Katerina Chornous – the wife of the commander of the anti-missile platoon of the 15 battalion of the 128th brigade Volodymyr Chornous, who was killed in the summer of 2014 in the battle for Luhansk airport. She also decided to dedicate her life to Ukrainian people and currently is serving in Uzhgorod City Military Commissariat.

  

Priests of the Carpathian diocese of UAOC and UOC-KP served prayer for all Ukrainian soldiers who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war in Donbas.

 

Young Transcarpathian singer from the village of Huklyve in Volovets district Anastasia Myhovych performed a cappella patriotic songs in memory of the fallen soldiers.

Also, the city military commissar told the audience that the end of next week, a memorial plaque in honor of the senior soldier of the 53rd Brigade Yuriy Birovchak, who was killed in Donetsk region in 2015, will be opened on the building of the school №17 in the "Domanyntsi" neighbourhood in Uzhgorod. The date and time of the event will be announced later.
