Tarogato opened the “Beregfest 2016.Visit home” (PHOTOS)

Yesterday, at noon, the traditional "Beregfest 2016. Visit home" was inaugurated in the Budepest park. The festival will last three days. On this occasion, considerable delegation of officials from Hungary, Consuls General and Consuls, heads of districts and towns of the region visited the city. The anthems of the both countries were performed. The Mayor of Beregovo Zoltan Babiak said that the words "Visit home" in the title are not accidental. It is a sort of message that Beregovo is always waiting for soldiers, who are now defending Ukraine in the east, migrants workers, residents of the city, who emigrated, he said. And, in particular, he said that because of those processes, the city’s population dropped to 20,000 (in 2001, for example, there were more than 26,500 residents). The city is living, evolving…   

The chairman of the general meeting of the Szabolcs-Satmar-Bereg region of Hungary Oscar Sestak thanked for invitation to the festival and said that he had come to the celebration with a musician. So, a moment later, Hungarian musical instrument tarogato started playing.

After that, there was the solemn signing of an agreement between the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Transcarpathian Regional Council and the government body of the Szabolcs-Satmar-Bereg region. This mission was performed by the head of the RSA Hennadiy Moskal, the chairman of the Regional Council Mykhailo Rivis, and the already mentioned chairman of the general meeting of the Szabolcs-Satmar-Bereg region of Hungary Oscar Sestak. Afterwards, the guests witnessed the parade of Beregovo schools. Among the exhibits carried by schoolchildren and students, yellow and blue colors and grapes prevailed. No wonder! The city and the district are famous for vineyards and growers. 

The main events of the "Beregfest 2016.Visit home" will be held today, but in the village of Yanoshi. Girls will be crushing grapes in barrels (for detailed program, see here).

Meanwhile, in the center of the Beregovo, there is a fair with wines, Transcarpathian cheeses, Hungarian national dishes, which will last three days.
