While patrolling Mukachevo, around midnight, on Ilona Zrinyi street, policemen saw a Ford parked in violation of traffic rules on a pedestrian crossing. The policemen stopped to warn the driver of the responsibility for this violation, but he started driving away. The policemen began the pursuit of the fugitive. The driver would not react to repeated demands to stop, increasing the speed instead. Soon, at the intersection of Beregivska and Shevchenko streets, the driver lost control and caused an accident by driving on the curb and crashing into a metal fence of a store. Patrol policemen immediately got out of the car and ran to the driver, who was reeking of alcohol and behaving suspiciously and inadequately. Almost immediately, he began to offer patrol policemen bribe, often repeating and hinting that the problem could be "settled" for a certain amount of money. The man had no documents for the vehicle. Having good grounds, the patrol policemen told about the need to take test for alcohol content, after which the driver agreed, and began walking to his car, but a few seconds later he began running away from the policemen. The policemen immediately caught the man, but he was behaving so violently, that they had to handcuff him. Realizing that he cannot escape, the detainee began to imitate poor health condition demanding an ambulance, which hospitalized the man to the hospital, where the patrol policemen were denied any explanation as to why the fugitive was taken to the ICU. Also, doctors refused to tell anything about the condition of the man. The only thing, that patrol policemen noticed in the hospital, was that the man took some unknown substance out of foil rolls. Later it became known that the 26-year-old man was a prosecutor in Mukachevo, and also the son of a high-ranking doctor of Mukachevo District Hospital. Because of the doctors’ interference, they could not examine the prosecutor.
