On September 5, bomb squad destroyed 29 explosive devices that had been found yesterday near the village of Lazeshchyna in Rakhiv district.
First, they received a report from local residents about the discovery of three metal objects similar to mortar shells.
Upon arrival at the scene, bomb experts identified the found objects – they were mortar shells. Then, during the examination of the surrounding area, rescuers using a metal detector found 26 more explosive devices.
Overall, 29 pieces of munitions were found, including 17 mortar shells of 82 mm caliber, 2 mortar shells of 50 mm caliber, 1 artillery shell of 122 mm caliber and 9 hand grenades F-1 of the World War II period.
All munitions were destroyed on the same day.
