On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the brilliant Ukrainian writer, poet, journalist and public figure Ivan Franko, the Central City Library organized on the central square the Poetry Marathon "Reading Franko together."
The event was improvisational in nature and was going according to the mood and desires of its participants. Some of them had prepared in advance – chosen their favorite poems or those they wanted to be recited at the event.
Ordinary townspeople also had the opportunity to participate in the event – the book exhibition dedicated to the writer "The Spiritual Leader of the Nation" was exhibited on the square and anyone could just read the favorite poet’s works from the exhibited books.
A member of the literary association "Native word" Yaroslav Sych presented his own poem "Ivan Franko", and an active reader of the library Larysa Komiaty recited an excerpt from the poem "Moses".
