The chief Transcarpathian customs officer: the man detained by ATO participants for bribe is not our employee!

The head of the Transcarpathian customs office Volodymyr Kolesnikov commented on the hyped incident where war veterans returning from rehabilitation in Slovakia detained a bribe-taker at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod". And also defiled journalists.

"The citizen on the video is not an employee of the Transcarpathian customs office or the fiscal service in general.In addition to customs officers and border guards, there are other related services at the customs post. I believe that the words published in the media cause irreparable damage to the image of the Transcarpathian customs office. In this regard, I would like to ask journalists, civil society activists, before distributing false information, to find out real circumstances and details of the incident you are covering. I am not protecting and not blaming anyone, I just ask for objectivity, impartiality and truthfulness", – Volodymyr Kolesnikov, the head of the Transcarpathian customs office said.

It is worth noting that Uzhgorod.in was one of the first to publish the video of the shocking incident. However, we never said that it was a customs officer or, for example, a border guard. We are waiting for official information. According to preliminary data, it was an employee of the quarantine service.
