In Transcarpathia, Ukrainian and Romanian border guards prevented cigarette smuggling

In Transcarpathia, border guards of Ukraine and Romania, as a result of the prompt exchange of information and the measures taken, prevented an attempt of illegal smuggling of cigarettes across the border. 

Thus, yesterday, on the Ukrainian-Romanian border, during the monitoring activities, officers of the border guard service department "Dilove" of the Mukachevo detachment, together with Romanian colleagues, prevented the attempt of cigarette smuggling. After receiving the information about a group of unknown persons near the border, border guards immediately went to the pace of the alleged offense. As a result of operative actions, on the bank of the Tisa river, 35 m from the border, border guards found six packages wrapped in black plastic bags.

The Romanian colleagues were informed about the discovery. In the course of further joint search, they found another 13 packages of tobacco products that the smugglers had left near the border fleeing from the border guards.

The found tobacco products were delivered to the Border Guard Service Department "Dilove". Currently, the measures are being taken to establish the circle of people involved in illegal activity at the border.
