On August 18th, at 12:10, the Rescue Service "101" received a report of a fire in a private two-story building on Gagarin street in Uzhgorod.
Firefighters of the 14th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Uzhgorod consisting of eight personnel members and two vehicles were sent to eliminate the fire.
At the time of the arrival of rescuers, the fire was in one of the rooms of the house. The fire was already fairly large, so firefighters had to prevent the spread of the fire throughout the building. In addition, according to the neighbors, a 54-year-old man (the owner’s partner) could be in the house. After exploration, the rescuers found the man on the balcony, he was unconscious. The victim was immediately evacuated outside and handed to paramedics, who had also arrived at the scene. Doctors took him to Uzhgorod central city hospital. The man was diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning.
At 12:34, rescue units localized the fire and completely eliminated it at 13:10.
The amount of damage caused to the owner is being established because the fire destroyed doors, windows, television set, and household items.
The cause of the fire will be established by law enforcement, it is possible that the fire in the house could be caused by negligence during smoking.
