Border guards daily ensure protection of the state border and couneract criminal activities for transportation of smuggled goods and illegal immigrants.
Thus, last night, border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment detained a large group of illegal immigrants who tried to illegally enter Hungary.
The group of 5 people moving in the direction of the state border was detected by a border patrol of the department "Luzhanka" using a thermal imager. The men aged 32 to 50 years had no documents. Four of the detainees identified themselves as citizens of Sri Lanka, one said that he was a citizen of Ukraine. It was also found out that the Ukrainian, who turned out to be an ex-convict, helped the Sri Lankians in their illegal journey.
All the detainees were taken to the border guard department for the preparation of administrative and procedural documents.
Currently, the report of signs of a criminal offense under Art.332 of the Criminal Code for trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine is being prepared.
