In Kyiv, the celebrations took place on Sophiyivska Square: the Olympic team of Ukraine departed to the main sports competition, which this time will take place in Rio de Janeiro. By the way, since the existence of the Olympics, it is the first competition of this level to be held in South America. From 5 to 21 of August, 206 Ukrainian athletes will be competing in 27 sports. We are pleased to say that among them there will be an athlete from Uzhgorod, a representative of the Transcarpathian school of fencing from the Sports Society "Dynamo" Anatoliy Herey.
At the ceremony, Anatoliy was marching along with other members of the fencing team.
Highest state officials came to greet the Olympians: the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, the head of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Igor Zhdanov, the chairman of the Parliament Committee on Youth, Sports and Tourism Artur Palatny, the head of the NOC of Ukraine Serhiy Bubka.
After the ceremony, there was a concert with the participation of stars of Ukrainian show business and an informal communication with the Olympians.
