Transcarpathians lack money for clothing and footwear

Employees of the regional state statistical service, in January 2016, conducted a survey of households in the region, during which they determined what are the priority areas they would spend extra funds on.

The respondents told that in case of significant increase in revenues, more than half of households would spend additional funds for clothing and footwear (57.9%) and improved nutrition (56.5%), seven out of the sixteen households – for treatment, three out of ten – for purchase of home appliances, 26.4% – for education, 22.8% – for vacation, one in five – for purchase of a car, and 17.5% – for improvement of housing conditions.

Compared with the previous year, the proportion of households that would spend more money to buy clothes and footwear has increased by 2.4 pp, those that would spend more money for education – by 2.8 pp, for improved nutrition, treatment – by 4.0 pp, for car purchase – by 4.8 pp.

Meanwhile, the percentage of families who would spend additional funds for home improvement has decreased by 1.9 pp, for purchase of household equipment – by 3.7 pp, and for vacation – by 9.4 pp.

The unanimous opinion of respondents was that social and personal values are the most important for them.
