Hungary will invest funds in Transcarpathia for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer

In order to establish the overall picture of cancer, the United States and the European Union introduced a special medical program and are allocating significant funds for it. Hungary is also involved in the program, which includes rigorous statistical accounting, analysis and exchange of data, and is ready to engage Transcarpathian region in the process. The details of such cooperation were discussed at the meeting of the head of the Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary István Mikoła and an American businessman Alex Rovt.

– The whole world is united in the fight against cancer, and there are prerequisites to make this terrible disease curable – I.Mikola said. – Hungary is experiencing an economic growth and can afford to finance health programs related to the treatment of cancer in Transcarpathia too. Our cooperation will include training, building of special laboratories with equipment in Transcarpathia, the exchange of data on biological samples, etc.

Hennadiy Moskal said that the region would provide full assistance to the Hungarians and invited to select specific medical institutions that would be involved in the program.  These days, the Hungarian delegation with the Director of Budapest Oncology Institute Dr. Miklos Kasler will examine Transcarpathian Regional Clinical Oncology Center and other medical institutions of the region for further cooperation.
