Moskal: “All the money from the regional contingency fund will be used to eliminate the aftermath of the disaster”

This morning Hennadiy Moskal held an urgent meeting of the Regional commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergencies, which addressed the issue of liquidation of the consequences of natural disasters in Khust and Vynogradiv districts. As of 9:00 AM, there is information about 1,200 damaged houses in 7 villages of Khust district and 6,000 damaged houses in 14 villages of Vynogradiv district (including damaged social facilities – schools, kindergartens, medical posts, etc.). In addition, 7 residents of Vynogradiv district, who siffered various injuries during the hail, were hospitalized. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. The bad weather also affected some settlements in Svalyava and Irshava districts. Damages are being calculated by special commissions.

– The commission classified the disaster as a natural emergency of the regional level – H. Moskal said. – This status gives reason to ask for assistance for elimination of the consequences of the bad weather from the Government of Ukraine. Today, there is UAH 1.5 million in the contigency fund of the regional budget. I signed a decree on the allocation of 500 thousand to Khust district and 1 million to Vynogradiv districts.   This morning, I had a phone conversation with the management of the State Emergencies Services, which reported that Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv and Chernihiv regions had also suffered from the bad weather. The Service is preparing an appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the allocation of funds to all affected regions, including Transcarpathia. The situation is under constant control of the regional authorities.
