The regional Spartakiad among workers of cultural institutions took place at the Uzhgorod stadium "Avangard". The competition initiated by the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, regional organization of the trade union of workers of culture and the Regional Council of the Sports Society "Ukraina" took place for the fourth time in general, and for the second time in Uzhgorod (the first two times, the Spartakiad took place on Mukachevo stadium "Spartak").
This year, the Spartakiad was attended by about 30 teams representing district and city departments of culture, regional cultural institutions and cultural educational institutions.
The organizers welcomed the athletes and expressed their gratitude for such a numerous representation – around 350 participants. Although some athletes show quite decent results in different sports, still the main purpose of the holiday is not setting records, but the organization of interesting leisure and get together for culture workers of the region.
The participants were competing in the following sports: darts, athletics, relay, family competitions, tug of war (at the stadium), chess, checkers and table tennis (at the sports complex "Yunist").
The athletes were judged by experienced judges headed by Master of Sport, national category judge Anatoly Plekhanov.
The winners were awarded with cups, medals, diplomas, certificates, and cash prizes.
