In Transcarpathia, two orphanages have been closed

Within five months of this year, 36 children were adopted in Transcarpathia, including 24 – by citizens of Ukraine, and 12 – by foreigners. This was announced during a briefing by the head of the Service for Children of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Svitlana Yakimelina. She stressed that the number of adopted children compared to the last year has increased, because during the same period in 2015, 27 children were adopted in the region.

"The percentage of foreigners adopting our children is increasing year by year. The number of couples who want to adopt is also growing. Now, there are 61 such couples in Transcarpathia" – Svitlana Yakimelina informed.
In Transcarpathia, there are currently 42 family-type homes, 60 foster families. "2 family-type homes and 3 foster families moved here from the east of the country, they are raising 19 children – the official said. – The construction of family-type homes in Uzhgorod and Vynogradiv districts continues."

  The number of children who are raised in orphanages of Transcarpathia since January 1, 2015 has decreased by 62. "Thanks to the development of family care, two orphanages in the region were closed in the last two years. The one in Vynogradiv, where over one hundred orphans were raised, and the orphanage in the village of Bene in Beregovo district for 20 children," – Svitlana Yakimelina said.
