Today, May 18, in the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum, there was the inauguration of a plaque to known public and cultural figure of Transcarpathia, innovator of the museum industry in the region and art curator Volodymyr Degtyarev (1953-2004). The plaque, made under architectural supervision of Lyubov Kerestey by Transcarpathian sculptors Vasyl Roman and Jan Potrohosh who were friends of V. Degtyarev, was placed on the ground floor of the museum (at the entrance).
The events started on the second floor. The chamber choir "Cantus" was performing (the choir director Emil Sokach was a personal friend of V. Degtyarev). They dedicated to him the music mysterium Exaudi.
V.Degtyarev’s daughter Lina said: "When my father became the director of the museum, he immediately began to arrange all kinds of new cultural events there. Thus, the first public appearance of the now known chamber choir "Cantus" took place in the art museum. It was sometime in the late 1980s. Symbolically, more than 25 years ago, on the same day. "
After that, all moved to the first floor, where Father Vladyslav blessed the plaque. More details about the event will be later.
