On the third Thursday in May, exactly 10 years ago, in Ukraine, there was established the holiday that has crossed borders and become international. It is the holiday of wearing ethnic embroidered Ukrainian clothes. This year, the Day of Embroidered Shirt is on May 19. We invite railroad workers to swap their uniforms for national clothes.
We invite employees of the "Ukrzaliznytsia" PJSC to support the initiative, which has become a tradition – to come to work in embroidery. Besides, many employees are fans of embroidery, so the staff will be pleased to see them in clothes embroidered by themselves. Many embroidery shirts are family heirlooms, gifts from parents or older generations. It is an important symbol and talisman. It is believed that a deep meaning is encoded in the color and pattern of embroidery. Moreover, different regions of Ukraine have their own unique patterns and colors.
