Tiny Prince Laborets has joined Uzhgorod collection of mini-sculptures

A new mini-sculpture has been installed in Uzhgorod, the zaholovok.com.ua informs.

The latest artistic work of sculptor Mykhailo Kolodko and blacksmith Mykhailo Kryvanych is dedicated to Prince Laborets – the legendary founder of Uzhgorod and Uzhgorod castle. The sculpture is set on one of the central walls of Uzhgorod castle.

The bronze Prince Laborets is tied with a bronze cord and symbolically attached to a metal sword, as if being its hilt. This symbolic image of the prince refers to his tragic death: Laborets was punished by assailants who drowned him in the Ondava river, which is now called Laborets (flows through Slovak city of Michalovce and meets the Uzh river on the territory of Slovakia).

The official opening of the mini-sculpture is planned on the anniversary date – according to the legends, the first mention of Prince Laborets dates back to 896. The sponsor of the sculpture is director of "Yazaki Ukraine" Milos Bosak.
