In Italy with hidden cigarettes (PHOTO)

Today, at the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office, another attempt to carry tobacco products across the customs border of Ukraine was prevented. A Ukrainian arrived at the customs post by a minibus "MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER", registration number plate of Slovakia. Our compatriot and two passengers were heading to Italy on private business.

The citizen chose the "red corridor" for customs clearance. The Ukrainian filled out the customs declaration, stating his passport data, information about the vehicle and the presence of personal items in the luggage. During the oral questioning, the citizen confirmed the information provided by him in the customs declaration, and denied carrying any other goods, including those prohibited or restricted for trasportation across the customs border of Ukraine.

In the course of the in-depth inspection of the vehicle and the things of the Ukrainian and the passengers, they found domestically made tobacco products with excise stamps Ukraine concealed from customs control, namely:

– Cigarettes «MARLBORO», a total of 1,022 packs;

– Cigarettes «MARLBORO» «GOLD», a total of 90 packs;

– Cigarettes «CHESTERFIELD» «KS BLUE», a total of 100 packets;

– Cigarettes «ROTHMANS» «DEMI», a total of 200 packets;

– Cigarettes «ROTHMANS» «25 CIGARETTES», a total of 10 packs.

The cigarettes were hidden in the cavity of the double wall dividing the luggage compartment and the driver’s cabin. The citizen of Ukraine admitted that the tobacco products were his property.

Thus the Ukrainian committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control.

These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Currently, the report on violation of customs rules has been drawn up and the tobacco products in amount of 1422 packs, worth more than 28,000 UAH and the vehicle worth more than 103,000 UAH were seized.
