Yesterday, a group of railway enthusiasts from Europe visited Borzhava narrow gauge railway, the zakarpattya.net.ua informs.
The group was headed by an Austrian citizen Wolfram Wendelin, who has learnt the Ukrainian language and published several books on historical railroads of Ukraine.
The train departed at 10.00 from the station of Beregovo depot and followed to the station of Irshava.
This commercial tour is the first in this year, it was fully paid for by railway fans. Transcarpathian activists, who have contributed to the revival of Borzhava narrow gauge, hope that tourists will remain interested in the Borzhava narrow gauge and will contribute to the development of this tourist destination.
Foreign railway fans were lucky enough to visit Transcarpathian region in the period when the region is literally drowning in flowering gardens. Visitors from Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Germany and the UK were really struck and amused.
