Official information on the death and injuries of people on April 9th has appeared on the official site of the Transcarpathian police.
Yesterday at 16:10, a paramedic reported to the police that a landslide had occured on the quarry in the vallage of Patskanyovo. There are victims.
The investigative team determined that the incident had occurred during the illegal quarrying by four local residents. As a result, one of them – a 27-year-old resident of Patskanyovo – died on the spot. The other three villagers suffered substantial injuries. Now they are in the regional hospital of Uzhgorod.
Criminal proceeding over the incicdent has been opened under Part 4 of Art.240 of the Criminal Code (violation of safety or use of mineral resources rules). It is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to eight years with confiscation of illegally mined resources and mining equipment.
Recall that the tragedy occurred on April 9.
