On Friday, April 8, the opening of the swimming championship of the city took place at the sports complex near Uzhgorod, the official page of Uzhgorod city council on Facebook informs. The competition was attended by about one hundred children born in 2006-2009.
The grand opening of the event was attended by representatives of local and regional authorities, as well as the First Vice President of Swimming Federation of Ukraine Volodymyr Shumilin and the chairman of the Water Sports Federation of Transcarpathia Robert Levitsky.
On behalf of the City Council, the City Council Secretary Andriana Sushko congratulated all the present participants, their coaches and parents.
The chief judge of the competition Larysa Royak said that every year the number of children joining swimming sports increases. "And the more they will compete, the more they will like it. This competition is a very strong impetus to the next stage of training. First of all, we try to make a sports festival for children, to make them all satisfied. Each age group will be awarded separately," – the judge said.
