Military topography will be taught at the weekend lessons (PRESS ANNOUNCEMENT)

The Association for the Promotion of the Defense of Ukraine and the NGO "Public convention" invite citizens to take a weekend training course on military topography, to be held by candidate of geographical sciences, chief editor of thed SSPE "Cartography", assistant professor of geodesy and cartography of Kyiv National Shevchenko University Vitaly Ostroukh.
The lecture material covers the following topics:
– Key elements of topographic maps and plans;
– The scale of topographic maps. Scales of national topographic maps and plans;
– Conventional signs of topographic maps;
– Geographical and rectangular coordinates;
– Nomenclature of topographic maps;
– Viewing orientation. Measurements of directional angles on topographic maps;
– Measurement of absolute and relative elevation on topographic maps. 
This course will be interesting and useful for teachers of geography, teachers of military training, for military personnel and all patriots who want to learn how to effectively defend themselves during military aggression.
Please bring a pencil, a compass, a protractor and a ruler to do practical tasks.
Saturday, April 9, from 15:00 to 18:00 – theoretical course.
Sunday, April 10, from 11:00 to 14:00 – practical training.

The event will take place in the classroom of the Linguistic Gymnasium Shevchenko №1, Uzhgorod,  Nezalezhnist embankment, 4 – in Shevchenko Linguistic Gymnasium.
